1 Stretch Spinning
A process in rayon yarn manufacture wherein filaments are forced through spinnerette holes of comparatively large diameter, say, from 0.25, to 0.50 mm. and subsequently elongated by a very considerable lengthways stretch. -

A type of rayon produced from a solution of cellulose in ammoniacal copper oxide. It is spun by two distinct methods: (1) Direct spinning wherein no tension is applied during coagulation; and (2) stretch spinning, wherein there is applied during coagulation sufficient tension to draw out the filaments to the required fineness. -
